Pumpkin cookies, cooler days and nights, colors changing, and the enjoyment of all things cozy are some of my favorite things about September. As I write, it is a beautiful cool, sunny day in upstate NY. The dogs are sound asleep in their favorite spots (some snoring), there is a pot of homemade tomato sauce on the stove, and it is a laid-back Sunday. The property I call home is showing the signs of the season. The apple and pear trees are abundant with fruit waiting to be harvested. Charlie the rescue donkey and Velvet a horse rescued several years ago have eaten the fruit they can reach from their pasture and always enjoy when Andrew and I toss a few apples or pears their way. Locally, the area hosts several festivals and events so all can savor the last several weeks before we all settle in for the winter.
At Toonie Moonie® we are busy preparing for the busiest time of year. More marshmallow is made, and seasonal flavors are offered. In late August two fall favorites returned… pumpkin spice and maple. These flavors sell out quickly. Pumpkin spice is a top favorite for many. On the first production day, several team members eagerly brought some home to share with loved ones. The aroma is scrumptious when our maple marshmallow crème is in production, reminding us of warm pancakes with butter and syrup. Toonie Moonie® marshmallow crème is a wonderful addition to the warm beverages so many enjoy this time of year. Hot cocoa, matcha, coffee, tea, all are elevated with a dollop of TMO. Torched marshmallow on hot cocoa is beyond fabulous! Additionally, fall is a time for baking for many. We love my grandmother’s pumpkin cookies with cream cheese frosting. Simply blending a container of Toonie Moonie® marshmallow crème with a block of cream cheese will result in the BEST cream cheese frosting EVER!!!! Another favorite is smores brownies. Brownies with torched marshmallow and crumbles of graham crackers are a cozy treat.
Wishing you all beautiful fall days spent with those you love and who love you creating wonderful memories and enjoying some cozy treats as the cooler weather arrives.Â
